Perhaps you have wondered whether one gift can really reach a child on the other side of the world, or a teenager across town. It can. It did.
Where I grew up in Burkina Faso, 27 cents bought a bowl of beans. I have never forgotten what that bowl meant to a hungry child. Every line of this report carries that same weight: a real need met by a real person, because you chose to give.
We serve for the glory of God, and we serve in the open. The figures below come straight from the return we filed with the Canada Revenue Agency, so you can see exactly how your trust was honoured.

Where your gift travelled
From Lethbridge to the ends of the earth.
Most of our work happens close to home in southern Alberta. The rest crosses oceans, carried out with trusted partners under written agreements and reported back to us.
In Canada
Youth programs, community outreach, program staff and the buildings in Lethbridge where people are welcomed every week, plus gifts to other Canadian charities.
Around the world
Programs in 11 countries: orphan and child sponsorship, education, medical care, clean water and community outreach.

Individuals, churches, businesses and partner charities gave $2,468,305 this year. Receipted gifts from people like you were the largest share by far.

A full plate keeps a child in class
School lunches mean children stay through the afternoon lesson instead of leaving to find food. This is where the 1 Million Meals Hunger Solution began.
Water within reach
A borehole near home gives mothers back hours of every day and gives children water that does not make them sick.

Beyond what is required
The Canada Revenue Agency required us to spend at least $19,121 on charity this year. We spent $2,221,084.

Bridges of Hope is a registered Canadian charity (863616843RR0001) and issues official receipts for eligible gifts.
Disclaimer: Bridges of Hope International Network of Development Agencies (BOHINDA) is a registered Canadian charity. Donors may indicate a preference for how their donation will be used; however, the final decision on the use of all funds rests with BOHINDA. In accordance with CRA guidelines, if BOHINDA is unable to use the donation as the donor prefers, the donation will not be returned, but will be applied to the organization’s charitable purposes where it is needed most.
