Moose Jaw International Medical Mission
Moose Jaw International Medical Mission is a community initiative that partners with local health providers to increase resilience and reduce vulnerability to poverty in all its forms—physical, psychological, and spiritual. The project provides health care services to area residents and orphaned child in Patzun, Guatemala. This project empowers communities through health, development, and education to reduce poverty and build lasting resilience.
As a team of Canadians, we are fortunate enough not to have to choose between putting food on the table and going to the doctor. Unfortunately, those we see in Guatemala do not have this privilege, and our assistance is often the difference between chronic pain and the ability to work and provide for their families. As we work with some of the most impoverished families, we have grown to appreciate that the need extends far beyond our time spent in the community. With this in mind, we firmly believe in empowerment, and leaving lasting and sustainable footprints in the communities we serve.
As you can surmise, this is a big undertaking for such a small and local group of healthcare professionals, and we hope you will consider joining us. This mission is close to our hearts and continues to connect like-minded healthcare professionals from around our province and Country. We invite you to join our mission in making a lasting impact on some of the most vulnerable communities and changing hundreds of lives for the better in 2026.
We want to invite you to give generously to support our team and those living in extreme poverty in Guatemala. The funds raised will allow us to purchase sterile supplies, medications, bandages and other instruments so we can do our job well.
We welcome you to support this mission in a few specific ways:
- $50 for one Days for Girls kit
- $100 for one community kit
- $250 for a surgery
- $500 can sponsor a home/stove kit
- $2500 to sponsor a day in the OR
To support one of the above, please indicate your choice in the comment section on the donation page.
There are long wait lists of patients in need for us already and we are eager to get there and help them. Please help us bring health to the poor of Guatemala!
