Project Portfolio
Burkina Faso
The primary focus of Bridges of Hope is in Burkina Faso, West Africa where we are operating a host of programs and projects. The work is defined under four integrated sectors:
1.Health; 2. Education/Schools; 3. Economic Empowerment; 4. Critical Intervention.
Specific investments are being made in supplemental food production; foster homes, medical care and education for orphans; assistance for mothers with chronically sick and severely malnourished infants; and preventative health education.
We are also partnering with individuals and community organizations to facilitate sustainable enterprise that can provide employment and improved quality of life.
We recognize that relief in and of itself cannot eradicate world poverty, but when the local economy thrives the need for relief is greatly diminished. Therefore, in keeping with our mission, Bridges of Hope puts a high premium on indigenous enterprise, using business creation to combat poverty.
Through the Bridges of Hope “legacy fund” we have been able to develop various business ventures and provide micro loans to hundreds of enterprising women while ensuring that about 100,000 children in the Boura region receive proper education and nutrition to become healthy contributing members of the community.
